The audit answers three questions in plain English: whether AI can find your site, whether it can understand what's there, and whether the signals are in place for it to cite you when it answers.

A short note

Built for the person, not the platform.

AI search visibility is the new SEO, and most audits read like the worst of the old ones: forty pages of warnings, a hundred acronyms, no priorities. We've tried to write a different kind of report.

Every finding is one sentence on what's wrong, one on why it matters, one on the fix. We rank by what actually moves the needle and stop where useful information stops. You'll see two or three things to fix first — not a hundred warnings to triage.

Every fix comes with a draft message addressed to the right person on your team — your developer, your CMS admin, your content lead, your security team. Copy, paste, send.

What we audit

Three questions. One report.

Every audit returns a 0–100 score against three rollups, with the specific findings that moved each. The questions are the same every time. The answers, mostly, are not.

i.

Can AI find your site?

We read your robots.txt against 11 named AI crawlers — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, OAI-SearchBot, and the rest. We fetch your sitemap, look for llms.txt, and probe whether your CDN is quietly turning AI bots away while robots.txt waves them in.

The CDN check is the one most audits miss. We fingerprint Cloudflare, Akamai, AWS WAF, Fastly, Sucuri, Vercel, and Netlify — and tell you when there's a gap between your policy and what's actually shipping.

ii.

Can AI understand what's there?

Headings, summaries, question-style sections, structured data, and a raw-vs-rendered diff. We fetch each sampled page twice — once as a plain HTTP request, once as a headless browser — and tell you how much of your content is actually visible before JavaScript runs.

This is the section that matters most for sites built on heavy client-side frameworks. AI bots don't always run JavaScript. If half your content depends on it, half your content is invisible.

iii.

Will AI cite you?

Trust signals AI assistants lean on when choosing whom to quote: verifiable author markup, freshness signals, outbound vs. internal link ratios, HTTPS posture, image alt coverage, and the editorial shape of your most-quotable paragraph.

A site can be technically open to every AI crawler and still go uncited, because nothing on the page anchors a confident citation. This is where most failures cluster.

Why this exists · Two-thirds of brands we audit pass robots.txt and fail at the CDN.
Methodology

What this audit is and isn't.

i. Measures Whether AI crawlers can reach your site at all — robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, and CDN-policy mismatches.
ii. Measures Whether your content is readable — page structure, structured data, freshness signals, raw vs. rendered DOM.
iii. Measures Whether the signals AI assistants use to pick citations are in place — author markup, sameAs links, HTTPS posture.
× Doesn't yet Query ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for live answers about your brand. That's coming, in a separately-labelled section.
× Doesn't pretend If your CDN blocks our cloud IP, we'll say so. We won't quietly report "all bots allowed" because the delta was zero.
